Although the Shockwave and Nightbeat issues were numbered #1 and #2 respectively, individual numbering for the series was abandoned with the Hot Rod issue as the series expanded beyond five issues. The third featured Blaster, Arcee, Mirage and Grimlock and Wheelie, with four more issues comprising The Transformers: Revelation. The second featured Soundwave, Kup, Galvatron, Optimus Prime and Ramjet. Split in volumes of 5, the first volume featured Shockwave, Nightbeat, Hot Rod, Sixshot, and Ultra Magnus. The series consists of single-issue stories based on IDW's Generation 1 fictional universe, each featuring an individual character. The Transformers: Spotlight is a comic book series of one-shot issues, published by IDW Publishing. Praise for THE PRIEST'S GRAVEYARD: The Priest's Graveyard by Ted Dekker is an amazing novel, utterly compelling, the story of an abandoned girl and a strange, vengeful priest whose paths eventually cross-with terrifying consequences. Adam Gordon narrates his year living in Madrid with an equivocation that results from non-stop self-medication, a loose grasp of the Spanish language, and his conviction that language can only imperfectly convey reality. Afflicted with imposter syndrome, Adam, fearing he’s nothing more than his “face value,” obsessively broods over his authenticity as a person and a poet. At face value, the story is about a young poet from Kansas, Adam Gordon, living in Madrid on a literary fellowship during the 2004 terrorist bombings. Reviews praised it as “hip, smart, and very funny” and “unusually brilliant.” Gary Sernovitz’s comment in The New York Times that the novel’s “plotting is scant,” and “the real action of the novel is interior,” also mirrors prevailing takes on the narrative. Ben Lerner’s debut novel, Leaving the Atocha Station (2011), received widespread critical acclaim. There are no Ballengers to greet them - only bloodshed and death welcome them home. That is, until I heard a single word break through the haze as plain and clear as if someone had leaned over and spoke directly into my ear.ĭ.J. It was a dream, right? Away from Drama and fantasy and back to the other genre part in this series, the comedy, the comedy along this season honestly surpassed everything i'v seen in the last one, and it just hit the highest of the high in dark comedy, it is quick, clever and easily fathomable. Of course all of that just show the level of brilliant script writing by Daniel Handler and his co's. After a hellish ten hours of unfortunate events and unsuccessful trails to finally get the best of Count Olaf, the season ends "as expected" showing the Baudelaire kids plummet down the cliff into the unknown, As a guy who watches Game of thrones, and that show is known for being so miserable with unexpected events, this show just exceeds that level of misery and anger, every time you feel hopeful and think finally the sun will rise they just easily smack you back to the sad reality the Baudelaire Orphans live. Oh, as much as i love this series it just never stops making me feel awful, agitated and angry as hell when the season always ends like this !! There they go into the belly of the beast. Cook journeys up and down salmon country, from the glacial rivers of Alaska to the rainforests of the Pacific Northwest to California's drought-stricken Central Valley and a wealth of places in between. How has this once-abundant resource reached this point, and what can we do to safeguard wild populations for future generations? Langdon Cook goes in search of the salmon in Upstream, his timely and in-depth look at how these beloved fish have nourished humankind through the ages and why their destiny is so closely tied to our own. Fish hatcheries and farms serve modern appetites with a domesticated "product"-while wild runs of salmon dwindle across the globe. Long a source of sustenance among native peoples, salmon is now more popular than ever. Our fascination with these superlative fish is as old as humanity itself. For others still, it's the jolt of adrenaline on a successful fishing trip. For others, it's the catch of the day on a restaurant menu, or a deep red fillet at the market. For some, a salmon evokes the distant wild, thrashing in the jaws of a hungry grizzly bear on TV. Finalist for the Washington State Book Award - From the award-winning author of The Mushroom Hunters comes the story of an iconic fish, perhaps the last great wild food: salmon. |
